Neutron and X-ray diffraction share many features as techniques,
but there are some critical differences.
a) Describe two to advantages of XRD over neutron diffraction in
a single sentence each.
b) Describe two to advantages of neutron diffraction over XRD in
a single sentence each.
c) Describe at length (small paragraph and a diagram) a unique
experiment, compared other techniques, that neutron Scattering can
be used for. Electron Back Scattered Diffraction (EBSD) is
carried out in the SEM. Despite being an electron diffraction
technique, it is vey different to selected area diffraction.
d) List the differences between EBSD and SAD.
e) Describe two materials problems, one that can be solved by
EBSD but NOT by SAD, and another than can be solved by SAD but NOT
by EBSD.
