In a 3m long shell-tube-type multitube heat exchanger,
TC-2.4, use water (cp=4188 J/Kg.K) with coef. of
film 75 W/m2 .K, with a mass flow of 1500 Kg/h, is heated from 10oC
to 28oC that exchanges heat with oil (cp= 1897 J/Kg.K) with coef.
from film 115 W/m2 .K, and enters at a temperature of 90oC and
leaves at 60oC. Considering soot factor of 0.002 for each side is
asked: a) Oil mass flow; b) A necessary heat exchange area for the
exchanger; c) The number of tubes, the external diameter being
0.6".
