A pavement structure is comprised of the following layers: 5.75 inch asphalt concrete, E = 400ksi; 23 inches of granular base, E = 20ksi and a subgrade having an E = 10ksi. All layers have Poisson ratio of 0.5. Calculate the horizontal tensile strain at the bottom of asphalt layer and a vertical compressive strain at the top of the subgrade under the centerline of a 50 Kip wheel load and 140 psi tire pressure
