2.1 A stamping press company in South Africa produces sheet-metal stampings in batches. The press is operated by a worker whose hourly labour rate is R16.50 and applicable a labour overhead rate of 42%. The cost rate of the press is discovered to be R23 every with an applicable equipment overhead rate of 20%. In one job of interest, batch size of 450 stampings, and the time to set up the die in the press takes 4200 seconds. The die cost R35 000 and is expected to last for 150 000 stampings.
