Q1. An RTD which is made from 0.1 mm in diameter wire with a length of 1.2 m. and an electrical resistivity of 12.5 x 10-6 22-cm at a temperature 20°C forms one arm of a Wheatstone bridge, where resistances R2 is 1602 and R3 is 21.22. The RTD is used to measure a temperature that is steady in time. The resistance of the RTD over a small temperature range may be expressed as: RRTD= Ro[1 + a(T - To)] Suppose the coefficient of resistance for this RTD is 0.003925 °C-¹. Temperature measurement is made by placing the RTD in the measuring environment and balancing the bridge by adjusting R1. The value of R1 required to balance the bridge is 20.5 2. (a) Determine the temperature of the RTD. (10 Pts.) (b) Calculate the design stage uncertainty. (6 Pts.) (c) If the required uncertainty in the measured temperature is ±0.8 °C would a 2% total uncertainty in each of the resistors that make up the bridge be acceptable? Neglect the effects of lead wire resistances. (8 Pts.) 1 R=R₂e R₂ R₁ R₂ R RTD OR OR OR URTD= VLOR₁" OR₂ OR3 = R Pl A NO TRATO/ RTD -URI +|₁|| -UR₂ -URS
