1. Compounds A and B have the molecular formula C4H8. A reacts with H2/PtO2 to give and alkane, C4H10. B also reacts with H2/PtO2 to give an alkane C4H10, which is different from the alkane formed from A. Reaction of A with O3, followed by treatment with Me2S, gives two products with formula CH2O and C3H60. B reacts with Oz under the same conditions to give one product, C2H40. When B is heated with a few drops of H2SO4, it is converted to mixture of B, C, and D, in which C predominates. B, C, and D all react with H/PtO2 to give the same alkane. Reaction of C with O3, followed by treatment with Me2S, gives one product, C2H40, the same product obtained from ozonolysis of B. Ozonolysis of D, gives two products, CH2O and C3H60; the latter product is not the same as the C3H60 product obtained from A. Propose structures for A- D.
