You are a member of the finance organization of a mid sized manufacturer. You serve as a liaison between the finance group and the IT organization for budget review. The IT organization has just completed its annual strategic planning and budgeting process. Their plans, which includes a $10 million budget(a 6 percent increase over last year), were forwarded to you for review by the recently hired CIO. Frankly, you do not understand the plan, nor do you see a close connection between the proposed projects and the strategic goals of the organization.
