[10% b) A laboratory column was constructed to perform flow tests on different geological media (Figure 2). It consists of two constant-head reservoirs that can be adjusted vertically to produce a hydraulic gradient. The column is cylindrical, 15 cm in diameter, and packed with a sand that has a hydraulic conductivity, K, of 4.01 x 105 m/s. The flowrate through the column is measured to be 0.01 L/min.
