subject to workplace bullying and harassment, including from
customers.
You are to build a workplace bullying and harassment training
plan for a small (one or two locations), BC based
retail business. Specifically, your goal is to train
employees how to respond if they are bullied and
harassed by a customer.
The plan must include all 9 steps of the Instructional Systems
Design (ISD) Model of Training and Development, be compliant with
WorkSafeBC legislation and based on best practises in the subject
area.
NEEDS ANALYSIS (35%)
1) Organizational Analysis
Cover all the components described in the text
Do research to support your analysis including: the
organization, its environment, resources etc.
Research the appropriate WorkSafe BC legislation and best
practises for workplace bullying and harassment training
Based on your analysis and research, describe the overall
training needs of the organization specific to this situation
Make sure you cite all your references
2)Task Analysis
Identify all the job types that will require training
Select one job that will be the focus for the rest of your
training plan
Obtain a relevant job description for your target job
Identify all the new tasks that the
job holders will now perform to respond to bullying and harassment
from customers. Remember, a task can by mental or physical.
Develop rating scales for each new task, as shown in your
text
Select two of the tasks and provide
step-by-step task breakdowns for each one
3)Person Analysis
Based on your organization and task analyses, estimate how many
employees will need training
Identify any obstacles to effective performance and how you will
address them
Identify the key personal and individual factors that will
influence training success in
this specific situation and describe how you
will address them
TRAINING DESIGN AND DELIVERY (35%)
The content in the training design and delivery section of your
plan must be aligned with the
information in the needs analysis section of your plan.
1) Learning Objectives
Based on your needs analysis, write
3-5 specific learning objectives for your
training program
2)Training Content
Identify and describe all the KSAOs that the trainees must
acquire in the training i.e. ones which must be covered in the
training content to achieve each learning objective and meet the
needs of the organization.
3)Training Methods
Based on the learning objectives and training content needs,
describe the specific training methods you would use for the
training program
Explain why these methods are the best ones to use
Make sure your recommended methods fit the organization's needs
and its resources
4) Learning Principles
Explain how you will incorporate adult learning principles into
your training program. Be specific.
TRAINING EVALUATION (10%)
1) Evaluation Criteria
Identify the specific training
variables that you will measure, given your learning objectives and
needs analysis results
2) Evaluation Design
Describe the data collection method(s) that you will use to
measure the training variables
Explain which training evaluation model would appropriate to
use
