Timelines are used in event planning for more than just tracking if the event is on schedule. Planning timelines are also used to set up and track tasks and ensure accountability for planning each item. Part of developing a planning timeline is considering the variety of "what if" scenarios or situations that could take place outside of the regularly scheduled tasks/items and having a contingency plan. Consider the marketing timeline you are planning for your project and provide a "what if" scenarios that could occur in the scope of this timeline. Include the actions that need to be taken by the event management team to handle the scenario, and who would be responsible for each item. In response to peers, offer additional insight into the "what if" scenarios and contingency planning.
