ASSESSMENT 1: ACADEMIC ESSAY
Intelligence collection and analysis is a sophisticated process
conducted by law enforcement agencies. The process has a lot of
challenges such as human rights abuses, therefore law enforcement
officials dealing with intelligence collection and analysis
function needs to be well trained. Intelligence can be segmented in
three components; namely Crime Intelligence, Defense Intelligence
and Civil Intelligence and due to its sophisticated nature, the
responsibilities are shared over three law enforcement agencies,
Police, Central Intelligence Service and Ministry of Defence.
Namibian Police Special Branch Directorate is predominantly
mandated with the collection, analysis and dissemination functions
but not limited to crime intelligence. As the Head of the Special
Branch Directorate, you are tasked to establish intelligence around
the sudden influx, availability and accessibility of hardcore drugs
in Kamashu town in Korokke Region You have been fully equipped with
all the required resources such as transport, manpower, funds and
operational equipment such as technological devices/gadgets.
Critically discuss the modus operand of the operation, which
technological devices/gadgets will be used and how legal and
ethical issues will not be contravened in the process as per the
Constitutional prescribes. Instructions:
The length of the assignment must not exceed ten (10) typed
pages excluding the cover page, table of content page and
references. Students must cite at least eight (08) textbook sources
not older than five (5) years for the assignment. It must be typed
in Aerial Unicode 12 font and 1, 5 spacing. Marks will be allocated
for proper reasoning.
