1. You have just signed an agreement with a famous retail company (Company Z) as a 3PL (Third party company) in order to run their customer delivery job on the Üsküdar region. Company Z shared a research that they have conducted lately about the locations of its frequent customers with you. Then you have asked you analyst to prepare a hierarchical clustering based dendogram using the addresses of these customers (mainly super markets). Hence the dendogram below can be used to group the customers by considering the location wise proximity; and you can come up with different number of customer groups by setting different bounds on the vertical axis(i.e maximum distance between customers in a group). On the example below you see three different bounds: y1 shows a maximum distance of 2,5 km between customers: y2 shows a maximum distance of 5 km between customers: y3 shows a maximum distance of 7,5 km between customers. a) Tell how many groups are formed and who are the members of these groups if you use y2 as the bound (i.e. at most 5 km apart) (10 points) b) Tell how many groups are formed and who are the members of these groups if you use y2 as the km apart) (10 points) bound (i.e. at most 7.5 y3 Cluster distance y2 T I I I I I I I 7 I I 1 I I I I
