Molecular Weights: -Cu 63.546g/mol A rock was analyzed for its copper content. Since copper goes through redox reactions, an iodometric totration was utilized. An unknown 1.5098 g sample was acidified using 3M sulfuric acid to dissolve the Cu compounds and diluted w/ 30mL distilled water. Kl was then added resulting in l2 and Cul precipitate from Cu²+ (first reaction). I₂ then reacted with excess Ki resulting in 13 (second reaction) w/c was titrated with Na2S203 (third reaction). 17.600mL of the titrant was required in the solution to reach the starch end point. www a.
