You are working in a company that designs and builds submarines, a naval vessel that operates underwater. Your new project is to build a submarine that is capable of underwater operation and can dive to a depth of 300m, with appropriate allowances. The submarine should also have an effective design to allow adequate speed while cruising underwater. You should take into consideration the type of materials and design of the submarine. In your report, you shall include (but not limited to) the following items: 1) Introduction This includes a brief introduction of the product and process, potential hazards along with precautionary steps during its operation, and its functionality. 2) Material selection and design List the potential modifications to the design of the product. Lists of possible materials for the design and identify their properties. Justify your selection of materials based on their availability, abundance, durability, economic feasibility and so on. Drawing of the proposed product. 3) Calculation on the cost of the required design This includes calculation of the volume, weight, size, height, thickness of the submarine and other internal/external parts. *Assumptions may be made for this section. References to actual parameters would be highly encouraged.
