How to calculate redundant Force on Diagram Above, Please use
Force Method
given that:
- member DE is pin headed and thus can only carry load
axially
- ΔT= 400C temperature rise at member DE shown in
diagram Above
- forces acting on member DE are redundant
- EI = 105 kNm2 acting on members AB, BC
and CD
- EA = 104 kN acting on Member DE
- The coefficient of thermal expansion = 10−5/℃
