External surfaces of engine dry sleeves are ground in a centerless grinding machine by plunge grinding. • The grinding time for one sleeve: 20 sec. • The loading and unloading time for one sleeve: 16 sec. The grinding wheel is to be redressed after every 200 sleeves are ground. • The wheel has to be discarded after 200 dressing. • The dressing of the wheel takes 20 min. A new wheel costs 6000 TL. • The grinding wheel changing time is 2 hours. • The cost of time (labor and machine costs with overheads) is 60 TL/hr. Find the cost of grinding one sleeve. Result: Cost of making one slv = 0.853 [TL/slv]
