A machine fills cereal in a box with a variance of .16 ounces.
The distribution of the cereal's weight in the box is normal. That
stated weight of the cereal in the box is 20 ounces. But, if the
machine is set 20 ounces, only 50% of the boxes will have the
proper weight. So, we want to set the machine so that there is only
one chance in 100 that the weight will be less than 20 ounces. At
what value do we set the fill rate of the machine?
Excel functions would be helpful as well.
