How is carbon involved in the control of Earth’s climate?
Carbon oxidizes in the interior of the Earth, releasing heat to
the surface.
Carbon makes the atmosphere more opaque, reflecting more solar
energy back into space.
Carbon enters and exits the atmosphere, changing its ability to
trap heat.
Carbon changes the albedo of the surface of the Earth, cause
more or less sunlight to be reflected back into space.
