An AT&T store salesperson receives a base salary of $2,000
per month plus a “commission”. The commission is 3% of the sales
for the month up to and including $10,000 and 5% of the sales for
the month over $10,000. Write a piecewise equation (2-part
equation) that relates the salesperson’s total monthly income to
his/her sales for the month. Now draw an x-y plot of the piecewise
function using graph paper. Determine (graphically with straight
lines and points) the salesperson’s monthly income if his/her sales
were exactly $10,100 for the month.
Draw and label an x-y plot of a piecewise function that
completely that illustrates the problem
Demonstrate with labels and lines the salesperson’s monthly
income if his/her sales were exactly $10,100 for the month
