1. Open Gas Properties and then use the pump to put some of the heavy gas into the box (blue dots). a. Observe gas particles' behavior. b. Pump in some light particles as well (red dots). What similarities and differences do you see between heavy and light particles? c. Hit the orange reset button. Add some heavy gas into the container. Increase the temperature by heating the container. How does the temperature change affect the behavior of the gas particles? d. Now decrease the temperature of the container by cooling it. After reaching 100K, analyze the gas's behavior. How does the temperature change affect the behavior of the gas particles? 2. Reset the simulation by clicking the orange reset button. Add some of the heavy gas into the container. After adding the heavy gas, fill in the blanks below: a. Number of particles in the container (click the particles box to find this): b. Temperature c. Pressure 3. Now decrease the volume of the container by sliding the handle on the left hand side towards the right. Now fill in the current values below: a. Number of particles in the container (click the particles box to find this): b. Temperature c. Pressure 4. How did decreasing the volume affect the pressure of the container? 5. Now add some more particles in the container without resetting. Fill in the values below. a. Number of particles in the container (click the particles box to find this):
