In the near (or far) future, we may attempt to send a space probe into a black hole. Suppose the probe we send is made of a 5.8 m long, massless bar with a 5 kg mass on each end. Calculate the tension the massless bar if we want to get to within 8000 km of the black hole that has a mass equal to 15 solar masses. Answer to the nearest hundredth of a Newton. Hint: The force of gravity is different the closer you get to the black hole leading to speghettification.
