-. A power cable at the equator runs from West to East. It is 20 m above the Earth's surface and a current of 500 A flows from East to West. a) Calculate the magnetic flux density underneath the cable at the Earth's surface, due to the current in the cable. b) The Earth's magnetic field is 7 x 10-5 T and is directed North at the equator. At what distance from the cable does the cable's magnetic field cancel the Earth's magnetic field? c) Draw a diagram to show where this line of overall zero magnetic field lies relative to the cable. Also show on your diagram the line where the overall magnetic field is twice that of the Earth's field. Clearly mark on your diagram the North, East, South and West directions.
