The Riverside anaerobic digester produces a sludge that has a
total solids concentration of 4 %. They are investigating a filter
press that will yield a solids concentration of 24%. If they now
produce 36 m3 /d of digested sludge, what annual
volume savings will they achieve by using the press? (Assume
digested sludge and dewatered sludge have the same density that is
the same as water density)
