Experimental Methods This part of the experiment will be divided into four sub experiments. These are described in the following text. Experiment 1.1 Determination of the heat capacity of the calorimeter 1. Pour 600 cm' distilled water in a clean, dry calorimeter (thermos flask), 2. Close the calorimeter and stir the water with the overhead stirrer and measure the temperature of the water every 20 seconds until it remains constant within 0.5 K: 3. Measure 100 cm ice water precisely off in a previously cooled measuring cylinder. Note the temperature of the ice water (do not use too much ice); 4. Pour the 100 cm ice water carefully to the 600 om water and note the temperature every 20 seconds until it remains constant within 0.5 K: 5. Repeat the procedure lo obtain duplicate values for the heat capacity of the calorimeter.
