A field measurement of 1751.71 ft was made with a steel chain, which was later standardized at a true length of 100.014 ft. What is the true distance measured? The anchor bolts, for steel columns, in an industrial building have to be laid out exactly 400.00 ft apart. A chain with a standard length of 99.932 ft is to be used. (Note: An EDM is not suitable for this type of work!) What must the actual field measurement be?
