The structural bracket shown below is riveted to the column with 24 mm diameter rivets. Determine the maximum safe load P which may be supported by the bracket if the ultimate strength of the rivets in shear is 320 MPa and in bearing is 1100 MPa. Use a factor of safety of 4 and assume that the load acts close to the column so there is negligible tension in the rivets. -8 15
