Form-work is needed for an 8-ft high concrete wall. The concrete will be internally vibrated and poured at a rate of 8.5 ft/h, at a temperature of 95° F. The sheathing will be Class 1 Plywood, 4 x 8 sheets, %-inch thick. The studs and double wales will be 2 x 4 Douglas Fir, with the following properties: Fb = 1910 psi FV = 110 psi FC = 455 psi E = 1.7x10 psi The deflection must not exceed L/240. Assuming that the stud spacing, as calculated is 12 inches, determine the design load and the spacing of the wales.
