The diameter of each pile is 500 mm and the spacing between piles (center to center) is 1.2 m. To be able to calculate the consolidation settlement, an imaginary footing replacing the pile group is assumed at the location shown in the figure. Calculate the increase of vertical stress (1 o) in kilo Pascal (kPa) for the bottom clay layer to be used in calculating the consolidation settlement, using the 2:1 method, then choose the closest value to the value you have calculated.
