Problem 27 The diagram shows a prismatic channel with two sections of different slope, the first section has small length, while the second (of greater slope) has a great length. This channel starts downstream of a gate (with constant flow discharge) and ends in a reservoir with a variable water level, which is limited between the two levels indicated in the figure. For any level of the reservoir, the existence of a hydraulic jump is observed in the downstream section, while there is no hydraulic jump in the upstream section. Draw the shape of the free water surface, indicating the types of backwater curves that appear and clearly differentiate the channel zones with increasing, decreasing and constant water level. is iz O<i<< 12
