Problem Two reservoirs are connected by two rough pipes in series. The entrance and exit to and from the reservoir are flush and submerged. The first pipe is 600 m long and 200 mm in diameter(e=2 mm) and the second pipe is 900 m long and 400 mm in diameter (e=3 mm). The junction between the two pipes is a sudden expansion. Other fittings present are 1 globe valve (k=10) in the 200-mm-Ø and two 45°-bends (k=0.2) in the 400-mm-Ø. Also, a gate valve (k=5) is present near the submerged end on the 400-mm-Ø pipe. Determine the difference in elevations between the two reservoirs if Q=120 L/s of water (v=1x10-6 m²/s)
