To understand the relative economics and emissions of th the ground source heat pump (GSHP) compared to a condensing boller at full load. Using the COP calculated in (b) and by making simple assumptions calculate and compare the required annual energy input, energy cost and carbon emissions for the two systems.
Assumptions
For grid electricity
Equivalent CO: emission 0.44548 kgCO₂/kWh - Electricity Cost= 10.5 p/ kWh;
For gas
-Equivalent CO emission 0.18404 kgCD,/kWh
Gas cost 3.5 p/kWh.
Condensing boiler efficiency is 85%
