A Car Suspension System Has The Following Transfer Function Which Relates The Force Input From The Road F S To The D 1 (32.29 KiB) Viewed 11 times
A car suspension system has the following transfer function, which relates the force input from the road, F(s), to the displacement of the car body, x(s) : x(s) - 1/m F(s) $2+ m m where the car body mass, m = 1000 kg, suspension damping, C = 8000 Ns/m and suspension stiffness, k = 25000 N/m. The suspension system was originally designed to be critically damped using the above parameter values. However, the suspension system has suffered an oil leak which has affected the damping constant, c. The car mass, m, and suspension stiffness, k, remain unaffected. Use the response to a step input of magnitude 3000 N shown in the figure below to determine the new damping constant value, C.
