The shaft is to transmit a torque of T Nm and a stationary vertical load of PKN is acting at the centre of the beam. Take ay = 380 MPa. (1) Find the Bending stress and shear stress due to stress-induced, (ii) Evaluate the principal stress acting at the centre of the beam; (iii) Determine the factor of safety for the Principal stresses obtained based on Tresca theory, (iv) Determine the factor of safety for the principal stresses obtained based on Von Mises - Henky theory.
