Q-4 A long, 60 Hz three-phase, lossless transmission line with rated line-line voltage of 600 kV and length of 350 km has distributed series inductance of 0.87 mH/km per- phase and distributed shunt capacitance of 0.013 pF/km per-phase. Determine: (a) The phase constant, surge impedance, velocity of propagation and wavelength of the line. (b) If the receiving end of the line consumes 900 MW with 0.88 lagging power factor at 600 kV line-line, determine the voltage and current at sending side and voltage regulation of the line. (c) Find %age efficiency.
