The flight times (in thousands of hours) of seven pilots with a certain airline are (2, 4, 1, 3, 7, 2, 9). Find the average, the middle and the most frequent (typical) value of their flight hours. (5 Marks) (b) A lecturer will conduct a quiz test in a class of 40 students and sets its duration to 17 min. Experience suggests that the distribution of the time needed by a student to complete the test is bell-shaped (approximately normal) with mean 13 min and standard deviation 2 min. Determine: (1) The number of students who will fail to complete the test. [4 Marks) (ii) The number of students who will complete it within 11 min. (4 Marks] (iii) The test duration so that all students could complete it. [2 Marks) (c) The yearly salaries of three different rank employees working for a company are £10000, £20000 and £60000. The years of experience for these employees are 28, 29 and 33 years, respectively. Determine the variation in salaries and in years of experience for these employees.
