There is an on-going national conversation about the enactment of a National Quality Policy (NQP) and the implementation of a National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) to be spearheaded by the Ministry of Trade and Industry. As an initial step in the process (consistent with global best practice) is the establishment of a National Quality Council (NDC). The Council is considering the adoption of the ISO 9001:2015 principles as the philosophical basis for such an implementation. As an expert drafted onto the Council, critically assess the principles on the basis of underpinning philosophy, benefits and modes of application
