(a) Assuming a typical burn time for a rocket, calculate the effect on Av if a rocket is launched totally vertically throughout its flight. Comment on your answer. (b) Explain why in terms of achievable Av, the Cape Canaveral (NASA) and Baikonur (Russia) launch sites are not equally effective and show which is the better. Include relevant calculations in your answer and show your working. Take the location of Cape Canaveral as (28.5°N, 80.6°W), of Baikonur as (45.97°N and 63.38°E) and the radius of the Earth as 6371 km. O Figure for Q3(c) (c) The diagram supplied above is a cross section of a solid rocket. Copy the diagram, labelling and explaining what is being shown. Then sketch and describe the associated thrust profile when ignited. Next sketch the cross-section for a purely tubular solid propellant (whose central shaft would just contain the triangular shape in the figure) and add its thrust profile to your sketch, again explaining all relevant features.
