It is desirable to extract fish oil from the liver in a
counter-current multistage extractor with ethyl ether solvent. The
amount of solution carried (entrainment) by the fish liver is a
function of the oil content in the solution as shown in the
following table:
The oil content in fish liver is 25.7% by mass, it is expected
that 95% of the existing oil will be absorbed into the final
product solution which has a content of 70% by mass of oil.
