Given: A soil has 30% water (on a mass basis) when saturated,
20% water at field capacity, 5% at permeant wilting point, and 3%
percent at air dry condition. The soil had a bulk density of 81
pounds per cubic foot (81lbs/ft^3). The density of water is
1g/cm3 or 62.4 lbs/ft3.
1) Calculate the percentage of water available to plants (plant
available water) at field capacity condition, per acre-foot of
soil.
