Rhizomes are the primary way by which seagrass meadows
grow in size. Sometimes, however, seeds produced through sexual
reproduction can settle onto the seafloor and begin the process of
building a new seagrass meadow. In your own words, describe the
successional process that allows seagrass seedlings the best chance
of surviving and developing into a large meadow? What makes this
successional process so important?
Compare and contrast the impact of grazers (herbivores)
on seagrass meadows in temperate vs subtropical/tropical
latitudes.
