assumes it will be a metal that obeys the 18 electron rule, most
likely first or second row transition metal.

Which metal valence orbitals take part in bonding and which are non-bonding? Sketch any ligand group orbitals which exist as a degenerate pair. (You are not required to sketch an energy-level diagram for the molecule). (7 marks)
