5. (25 points) OPTIONAL PROBLEM. You are given one of the small mirrors that we used in the lab demonstrations, so it has both a convex side and a concave side. The magnitude of the radius of curvature is 18.0 cm for both sides. a. (10 points) You put an object that is 5.0 cm tall in front of the mirror's CONCAVE side. An image is formed 6.0 cm behind the mirror. Determine: i. (5 pts) The location of the object - i.e., the object distance. ii. (2 pts) The size of the image. iii. (1 pt) The type of the image: Real or Virtual. To get credit, you must briefly justify your choice. A “bare” answer will not get any credit. iv. . (1 pt) The orientation of the image: Upright or Inverted. To get credit, you must briefly justify your choice. A "bare" answer will not get any credit. (1 pt) The magnification of the image (give a value).

To get credit, you must briefly justify your choice. A "bare" answer will not get any credit. V. (1 pt) The magnification of the image (give a value). c. (5 points) For ONE of the two cases above (concave or convex), SKETCH a ray diagram to illustrate your answer. It doesn't have to be to scale, but the rays should form the image on the correct side of the mirror, have proper orientation (upright or inverted) and be the proper image type (real or virtual). You should use a ruler to make straight lines, and you must label the focal point and radius of curvature. And you must say WHICH case you are illustrating. The optic axis and mirror are already drawn below.
