Clodronate is a chemical that when injected into mice is able to
deplete macrophages. You use a mouse model of breast cancer where
murine tumor cells are orthotopically injected into the mammary fat
pad of syngeneic mice. In mice that have not received clodronate,
metastases to the lung is seen at 14 days post
injection. Based on what you know about similar mouse
models of breast cancer, what effect of clodronate do you expect to
see on (A). primary tumor growth and (B) metastasis to the
lung?
