Question 11 (4 points) Nitrogenase is the key enzyme in biological nitrogen fixation. Via nitrogen fixation, gaseous inert nitrogen gas becomes bioavailable form. The process is highly energy demanding so only few bacteria equipped with aerobic respiration can supply enough ATP for the nitrogen fixation process. However, the key enzyme, nitrogenase, is oxygen sensitive. Explain how the Legume-Root nodule symbiosis solves this problem.
