i. Using a seven-membrane spanning protein as an example,
explain how a mutation can result in increased relative fitness and
natural selection. Explain how this leads to a change in allele
frequency and adaptation in a population. (150-200 words; 6

ii. Using an ion channel protein as an example, explain how a
mutation can have a deleterious effect on an individual who
possesses that trait (150-200 words). In your answer, include:
