Compare two methods to improve the theoretical maximum efficiency of a heat engine: lowering the exhaust temperature Te by 10 K or raising the input temperature Tu by 10 K. Which method would result in the greater increase in efficiency? Both changes would give the same result. There is nothing one can do to improve the theoretical efficiency of a heat engine. Lower Tc by 10 K. Raise Til by 10 K The best method would depend on the difference between Te and T.
