Question 1 (8 Marks) (MLO 1, 2, 3, analyse, classify, conclude) Plant and natural extracts have gained high attention recently for their eco-friendly corrosion inhibition properties. Garpe seeds extract have been investigated for corrosion inhibition in mild steel structures in mild hydrochloric acid media. The mild steel was exposed to different concentration of the extract (0, 100, 200, 300 ppm) for 3 hrs to investigate the effect on corrosion rate was studied. Analyse the imagining results of the study and answer the following questions, 2. State the type of microscope that was used for the imaging in Figure 1. (1 Mark) b. State the type of detector that was used to obtain the results in Figure 2. (1 Mark) c. Analyze the images in Figure 1, compare the surface at different extract concentration, and draw a conclusion about the effect of the concentration of grape extract on corrosion inhibition.
