ZOOM + 2 Page < > of 6 3. Use an Excel formula and fill across to calculate all trials in the set in the appropriate row: Calculate the initial mmoles of each reactant using its initial volume and initial molarity and equation 2. Remember that your units must cancel out to give the desired unit! The initial mmoles of each product is? - Calculate the final number of mmoles of each of the four substances from the total volume and final molarity Calculate the change in mmoles for each of the four substances, using the fact that initial mmoles + change in mmoles - final mmoles Note that the change in mmoles will have either a + or - sign; however initial and final mmoles cannot be negative 4. Format the table to make it easy to read. Format to show correct sig figs and follow our guidelines. You may choose to add borders, shading, or other formatting your goal is to make the table as straightforward and visually easy to read as possible. $. Make two graphs as scatterplots - choose dots with connecting straight lines for this graph: M Make sure each plot has a Figure Caption and properly labeled axes. - Your first plot will be of Set 1: plot the final mmoles of one of the products vs. initial mmoles of Reactant I. (Reactant I should be the substance being varied in Set I.) - Your second plot will be of Set 1: plot the final mmoles of the same product vs. initial mmoles of Reactant 2. (Reactant 2 should be the substance being varied in Set II.) Hints -- Remember it's always y vs. x. Make a working table (one you don't have to show) of just the data to be used for the graph, with x values in the first column and y in the second column then it's easy to select the x & y columns together and insert chart. Neat trick-move your completed graph over the working table so it doesn't show.
