Consider the stirred tank heating process shown in the following
figure:

The volume of the water, V, in the tank is constant equal to 500
liters, and the mass flow rate of water in and out, w, is constant
equal to 100 kg/min. Following properties of liquid water may be
assumed constant: density ρ =996 kg/m 3, specific heat C = 4.18
kJ/kg K. Initially, the process is operating at steady state with T
i,ss = 10 oC, and Q ss = 15000 kJ/min. (a) Calculate the initial
steady state temperature T ss in degrees Celsius (b) At time=0,
temperature T i is increased suddenly by 20 oC. Calculate outlet
temperature T (in degrees Celsius) after 5 minutes
