In Ashiteru manufacturing plant, the pneumatic transport system will be used to carry 28.97 kg/hr of polyolefin elastomer powder (particle density 17.03 kg/m3) using nitrogen gas (gas density 39.95 kg/m3, viscosity 44.01 × 10-5 Pa.s) with particle diameter and pipe diameter of 159.81 μm and 58.12 mm, respectively. Calculate
(i) the gas velocity of the polyolefin elastomer powder.
(ii) the gas friction factor between the vessels.
